TEXANS VS PANTHERS TNF Panthers: QB - Sam Darnold 74 Darnold was efficient in this one and did everything you’d ask a quarterback to do. He didn’t turn the ball over, although he did fumble twice or his grade would have been in the 80s. He was effective, particularly targeting the zone between the linebackers and the safeties, throwing intermediate passes with accuracy and anticipation. He has the skill set to play in this Joe Brady scheme very well. He was harassed by the Houston defense but the constant outlet passes led to him picking up a few tough third downs. Maybe his most impressive play in this one was with about 2 minutes left in the third and the game still in the balance, on 3rd and 9 and facing a big hit he hung in the pocket and delivered a 10 yard bullet to Terrance Marshall who beat Eric Murray on the play. It kept the drive going and showed his toughness in the face of pressure. Add 300 yards passing and two touchdown runs, and Darnold played a very effective game. RB
