2014 final mock draft

2014 Mock Draft
1. Houston Texans: Jadeveon Clowney,  DE South Carolina
This is simply a team taking the best player available. Clowney is a monster who if you paired him with Watt would create the scariest pass rushing duo in the NFL.
2. St. Louis Rams: Greg Robinson, OT Auburn
The idea here is that you get a coach who loves smash mouth football a smash mouth player. They play in a division that loves to run and pound away at you and Robinson would fit right in.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars – Khalil Mack, OLB Buffalo
This is a tougher pick because Watkins is available but Mack is a special player. He gives Gus Bradley the type of versatile defensive weapon that he’s been looking for.
4. Cleveland Browns –Johnny Manziel, QB Texas A&M
Kyle Shanahan would love to get his hands on Manziel. His play action and boot system would fit Johnny Football perfectly and allow him to use his unique skill set.
5. Oakland Raiders – Sammy Watkins, WR Clemson
Watkins is the best of the players left and he’s a monster. He gives Matt Schaub a serious weapon and gives this team a legit number one weapon for the next decade.
6. Atlanta Falcons – Jake Matthews, OT Texas A&M
Atlanta would run this pick to the podium. He’s a great fit for a team that desperately needs pass protection help for Matt Ryan and his floor is extremely high and he’s good enough to play right now.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Mike Evans, WR Texas A&M
Defenses would cringe when they see Evans and Jackson coming at them every week. With a strong armed Mike Glennon at the helm this duo of deep threats would be terrifying.
8. Minnesota Vikings – Blake Bortles, QB Central Florida
You could let Bortles sit for a year and learn and help develop him. He has potential long term and has the size to hang in the pocket and deliver the football.
9. Buffalo Bills – Eric Ebron, TE North Carolina
Ebron would be the perfect complement to the Bills offense. E.J. Manuel desperately needs a security blanket and Ebron is the best one since probably Vernon Davis.

10. Detroit Lions – HaHa Clinton-Dix, S Alabama
I don’t like this spot for Detroit and I could easily see them moving up or moving back. I doubt they stand pat here but if they do they settle for Dix knowing they need a good coverage safety.
11. Tennessee Titans –Taylor Lewan, OT Michigan
Lewan is a great fit for Tennessee and gives this team a tremendous young offensive line with Warmack, Schwenke, and Lewan. He’s a nice player who could provide great long term upside on the left side.
12. New York Giants – Aaron Donald, DT Pitt
I think Martin would clearly be in play here but Donald provides such awesome upside and value here at 12. He is the best interior pass rusher in this class and allows the Giants to be productive only rushing 4.
13. St. Louis Rams – Odell Beckham Jr, WR LSU
I think Beckham is overrated but everyone now has him pegged as the third best wide receiver in this class. To me all this does is give the Rams another number two target and leaves them wanting.
14. Chicago Bears – Calvin Pryor, S Louisville
I think the Bears want playmakers on their defense and while defensive tackle is definitely in play here Pryor is a big hitter who can help you in both defensive phases.
15. Pittsbugh Steelers – Justin Gilbert, CB Oklahoma State
Gilbert is a playmaker on the defensive backfield. With Donald gone I think taking a quality ball hawking corner here makes a lot of sense.
16. Dallas Cowboys – Timmy Jernigan, DT Florida State
The Cowboys would have loved for one of the safeties to fall to them, but when that didn’t happen they grabbed a quality defensive line prospect.
17. Baltimore Ravens – Mike Martin, OL Notre Dame
The Ravens have to get more talented up front. Martin can play any position and while he may start at tackle eventually I could see him being the starting center for Baltimore.
18. New York Jets – Marqise Lee, WR USC
Lee is a great get here at 18 for the Jets. He provides a number one option to pair with Jordy Nelson and almost guarantees the Jets end up with their first receiver with 65 catches in the past 5 years.

19. Miami Dolphins – Morgan Moses, OT Virginia
Miami is a horrible team at drafting and I think they continue that with the pick of Moses here. They are in desperate need for an offensive lineman and they reach 30 picks for Moses.
20. Arizona Cardinals – Derek Carr, QB Fresno State
The Cardinals don’t have many holes so they take their quarterback of the future in Carr. I’m not sold on Carr but Bruce Arians will like his big arm and take a chance on the Bulldog alum.
21. Green Bay Packers – C.J. Mosely, LB Alabama
The Packers dream scenario plays out here. They desperately need an inside linebacker presence and Mosely is a top ten talent who falls because of position value.
22. Philadelphia Eagles –Darqueze Dennard, CB Michigan State
Dennard may go much higher but here I have Philly taking the versatile corner.
23. Kansas City Chiefs – Brandin Cooks, WR Oregon State
Kansas City desperately needs a second weapon at receiver besides Dwayne Bowe. Cooks is a burner who could produce right away and compares favorably to Steve Smith.
24. Cincinnati Bengals – Jason Verett, CB TCU
Verett is a stud who happens to be undersized. You could play him right now at the nickel and when your aging corners move on he could slide outside with no dropoff.
25. San Diego Chargers – Anthony Barr, OLB UCLA
The Chargers continue on their incredible draft of 2013 with a steal here at 25. Barr is a top ten prospect to me who gives San Diego a pass rusher with huge upside.
26. Cleveland Browns – Cody Latimer, WR Indiana
Latimer provides a really nice possession receiver opposite of Josh Gordon and a nice toy for Manziel.
27. New Orleans Saints – Davante Adams, WR Fresno State
Adams would give the Saints a needed weapon in their passing game. Losing Moore and Sproles means they need someone who can get YAC and Adams is tremendous at that scenario.
28. Carolina Panthers – Joel  Bitonio, OT Nevada
The Panthers need receiver help but as a bunch of their top guys are off the board they fill a huge hole left by Jordan Gross’ retirement.

29. New England Patriots – Rashede Hageman, DT Minnesota
Hageman is a versatile guy who could play handle the multiple fronts that New England likes to run and provides nice depth and a future replacement for Wilfork.
30. San Francisco 49ers – Bradley Roby, CB Ohio State
I seriously doubt the 49ers don’t move up but if they stand pat taking Roby makes some sense. They could use depth in their defensive backfield and Roby has a lot of talent.
31. Denver Broncos – Ryan Shazier, OLB Ohio State
Shazier falls to 31 in this scenario and the Broncos are doing back flips. They get a high floor guy who can play right away and provides size and speed to a defense who got bullied at times in 2013.
32. Seattle Seahawks – Xavier Su’a Filo, G UCLA
People think the Hawks offensive line was good last year in reality they allowed sacks on 9 percent of their drops backs, which was worst in the league. Su’a Filo is a high floor pass protector.

2024 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT BIOS

2024 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT BIOS  Extra notes I put in italics. Some of these are from Senior Bowl or Combine notes that may have caused an update, and some are from watching extra tape later on in the Pre-Draft Process and I didn’t want to type everything up again.  Blue are guys I’m higher on by at least one round and usually 2 or 3 rds than consensus. Marvin Harrison Jr, WR Ohio State 99 I’m not trying to be contrarian here by putting Harrison Jr first ahead of Williams and Maye. The thing is my ratings are not positioned based when I do Bios and Harrison is the 2nd best prospect I’ve ever scouted (behind only Andrew Luck) so he has to get this rating. Harrison Jr is going to walk into the NFL and be a top 10 WR immediately. He has perfect size at 6’4 and 215 pounds and yet is a truly elite route runner. He creates separation and can get in and out of breaks like someone 6 inches shorter. His acceleration and ability to leave defenders looking lost is a rare trait. On to...

2021 NFL Draft Prospect Write Ups

2021 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT WRITE UPS Trevor Lawrence, QB Clemson 99 Lawrence is the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck and he’s only the second quarterback I’ve ever given the elusive 99 rating. Lawrence has only lost two games his entire career at Clemson as the starter there and has been nothing short of incredible. He has great size at 6’6 and around 225 pounds with plus movement skills. When he scrambles his long strides pick up yards in chunks. He has a big time arm that can show equal parts touch and howitzer depending on the situation. Lawrence throws a beautiful deep ball as well and has exceptional pocket awareness. Ultimately he’s someone who if you give him the pieces can be one of the best at his position in the NFL and potentially of all time. He has that type of ability. What makes Lawrence so incredible is that he can create big plays without taking unnecessary risks. He has 90 touchdowns with just 17 interceptions in his career and added on 18 touchdowns on ...

2018 Mock Draft #1

Mock Draft after the end of the regular season.  Cleveland Browns - QB Josh Rosen, UCLA It just makes too much sense for them to go with Rosen. In a Hue Jackson offense and with a good offensive line taking Rosen makes more sense than Darnold. He’s much more polished in the pocket, needs less time to develop, and is already used to standing in against a rush and playing from behind. Rosen is a better version of Matt Ryan and if Hue, Dorsey, and company get that, they will be ecstatic. I’d be surprised if this isn’t the pick in 4 months. 2. New York Giants - QB Sam Darnold, USC While I probably agree another year at USC could help Darnold, if I’m a top 5 pick guaranteed there is a zero percent chance i go back to school so this is the selection. Darnold is raw, still needs some seasoning, and turns it over way too much. That being said he’s also a physical specimen, can run like a deer, and has the size and stature to make every throw. He also has the most important ...
