day 2 picks i don't like

Some picks I didn’t like
1. Mitch Morse – OL Kansas City. There are players I just couldn’t get enough film on to give them an adequate draft grade, and that’s why they aren’t on my board. However, those guys are clearly draftable players like Eric Rowe or Tyler Kroft. Mitch Morse I had plenty of film on and still didn’t give him a grade. He went in the second round. Not a good selection.

2. Jake Fisher – OT Cincinnati. It’s not that I don’t like the player, he’s a good player. However, now the team has four tackles on the team and still they don’t have anyone who can rush the passer. I don’t get that. I understand some teams go with the best player available mantra, but you can’t have four tackles on your roster and have your top two picks sit and watch.

3. Rob Havenstein – RT St Louis. I love that they wanted to go get a right tackle, I just wouldn’t have gotten one who can bend his knees. I think Havenstein was a fifth round grade and  the Rams took him at the end of the second.

4. Frank Clark – DE Seattle. This is the typical Seahawks early pick. They take someone they could have gotten two or three rounds later because they like the scheme fit. I think it was a massive reach.

5. Jordan Richards – SS New England. They took the kid two to three rounds too early. He’s likely going to be a special teams player in the league and you took him in the second round, just a gigantic reach.

6. Chaz Green – OT Dallas. Why? I loved your first two picks I just don’t get why you go get a swing tackle in round three. You still have many other needs, just a weird pick.

7. Jacquiski Tartt – S San Francisco. I really love the player but you have two elite safeties including your team MVP at strong safety, the same spot Tartt would play. I just don’t see why you would do that in the second round.

8. Quentin Rollins and Ty Montgomery – Green Bay. I think Ted Thompson took this draft off. I like Rollins and Montgomery but these are NOT positions of need or really of any desire at all, I just don’t see how these guys see the field. I’m super confused.

Two picks I don’t hate but I don’t love.

9. T.J. Yeldon, RB Jacksonville – I don’t hate the pick I just think it was a pretty rich selection for him. I really think he would have been a better value in the middle to end of the third round.

10. Sammie Coates, WR Pittsburgh -  I think he’s a good risk in the end of the third round but the team already has two burners outside, seems like the definition of a luxury pick.

2024 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT BIOS

2024 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT BIOS  Extra notes I put in italics. Some of these are from Senior Bowl or Combine notes that may have caused an update, and some are from watching extra tape later on in the Pre-Draft Process and I didn’t want to type everything up again.  Blue are guys I’m higher on by at least one round and usually 2 or 3 rds than consensus. Marvin Harrison Jr, WR Ohio State 99 I’m not trying to be contrarian here by putting Harrison Jr first ahead of Williams and Maye. The thing is my ratings are not positioned based when I do Bios and Harrison is the 2nd best prospect I’ve ever scouted (behind only Andrew Luck) so he has to get this rating. Harrison Jr is going to walk into the NFL and be a top 10 WR immediately. He has perfect size at 6’4 and 215 pounds and yet is a truly elite route runner. He creates separation and can get in and out of breaks like someone 6 inches shorter. His acceleration and ability to leave defenders looking lost is a rare trait. On to...

2021 NFL Draft Prospect Write Ups

2021 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT WRITE UPS Trevor Lawrence, QB Clemson 99 Lawrence is the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck and he’s only the second quarterback I’ve ever given the elusive 99 rating. Lawrence has only lost two games his entire career at Clemson as the starter there and has been nothing short of incredible. He has great size at 6’6 and around 225 pounds with plus movement skills. When he scrambles his long strides pick up yards in chunks. He has a big time arm that can show equal parts touch and howitzer depending on the situation. Lawrence throws a beautiful deep ball as well and has exceptional pocket awareness. Ultimately he’s someone who if you give him the pieces can be one of the best at his position in the NFL and potentially of all time. He has that type of ability. What makes Lawrence so incredible is that he can create big plays without taking unnecessary risks. He has 90 touchdowns with just 17 interceptions in his career and added on 18 touchdowns on ...

2014 overall grades

1.           Jadeveon Clowney, DE South Carolina 98 Some people may ask about his productivity or his work ethic but no one can question his talent. The former number one high school player in the country is now the number one draft prospect. He has a completely unique skill set at his size running a 4.5 40 with an 82 inch wingspan. He has a rare speed to power move that can absolutely dominate blockers. He has more much more speed than Mario Williams and more size than Dwight Freeney. A complete freak that can’t be stopped by double teams, he could be the best defensive player in the league within a year or two. 2.        Greg Robinson, OT Auburn 98 People who are 332 pounds should not run 4.8 40’s. As much as Clowney is a physical anomaly so too is Robinson. He is one of the most dominating players at the point of attack that I’ve ever watched, and I’m not just talking about college players. He is a bit raw in h...
