2019 NFL DRAFT PLAYER RATINGS NUMBERED

2019 NFL DRAFT PLAYER RATINGS IN ORDER

No idea why the first 22 are outlined like that but my editing skills suck so here it is.

Grades go as follows:
90+ = players who should be 1st rounders regardless of draft class. They aren't scheme dependent and should make Pro-Bowls
85   = players who can go in the first round depending on need and draft class
80.  = 2nd rounders in most classes, particularly if need shows up. Likely have some holes in their game.
75.  = 2nd day players but better fits in round 3 and 4
68.  = rounds 4&5 they should be day 3 kids
60.  = draftable but major holes.

These are the 175 I had the time and inclination to do write-ups on based on various mock drafts and ratings. Here are some others with tapes I’ve seen or just enough to give a grade on.

I had Jonathan Simmons rated as my 6th best player in this class, but he has a domestic violence on his record and now might have to miss his entire rookie season. The DV thing is something i can’t get behind but this is more of a forum for where I rank players so just know, he was #6 on my board but the injury and DV thing take him off my board.

DRAFTABLE ON DAY 3 or Priority Free Agents (No Order):
  1. John Kominsky, DE Charleston
  2. Albert Huggins, DL Clemson
  3. Christopher Slayton, DL Syracuse
4.   Trey Pipkins, OT Sioux Falls
5    Dennis Daley, OT South Carolina - had a hard time with his tape, he looks serviceable but mostly as a backup to me.
6.    Martez Ivey, G Florida
7..   Jonathan Ledbetter, DL Georgia
8.    Ryan Pope, OT San Diego State
9.   Ricky Walker, DT Virginia Tech
10. Antoine Wesley, WR Texas Tech
11. Terry Godwin, WR Georgia
12. Jakobi Meyers, WR NC State
13. Trevon Wesco, TE/FB West Virginia
14. Donald Parham, TE Stetson
15. Dax Raymond, TE Utah State
16. Wes Hills, RB Slippery Rock (One of my favorite sleepers, I couldn’t do a full workup on him but he’s super impressive the little I’ve seen, he would be a target of mine if I were a GM)
17. Rodney Anderson, RB Oklahoma (I think he’s a great guy to take a flier on in round 6 or 7 but it all comes down to the medicals, he couldn’t stay healthy except in 1 of 4 seasons so if my staff says no then he’s out, but he could provide a good boost if he clears medicals)
18. Karon Higdon, RB Michigan - just a guy 5th-7th
19. Alex Barnes, RB Kansas State - just a guy 5th -7th
20. Miles Gaskin, RB Washington - just a guy
21. LJ Scott, RB Michigan State - just a guy
22. Khari Willis, S Michigan State - draftable late
23. Jimmy Moreland, CB James Madison - great ball skills, 6 pick sixes, blocks kicks, definitely draftable but lacks the traits to play outside corner. Day 3 slot corner with special teams ability.
24. Kris Boyd, DB Texas - super overrated, his tape wasn’t good and his Senior Bowl was embarrassing, but he has impressive traits. I don’t think he can play corner in the NFL but he’s tough and physical and could be a solid safety down the road.
25.EJ Ejiya, LB North Texas
26. Cameron Smith, LB USC - I just am not a fan of his game and think that while he’s probably  draftable he’s Just A Guy and looks like an okay backup at best. Not someone I would target.
27. Ronheem Bingham, Edge Arkansas State - analytics guys love him but I don’t have enough information or enough tape but analytics say he’s a day 3 guy.
28. Terrill Hanks, LB New Mexico State - too slow for me, but 4 years of great production. He’s clunky and not my cup of tea but some teams value production so much he’s draftable
29. Chase Hansen, LB Utah - undersized for a linebacker and not really quick enough for a SS but he’s a tackler and good in coverage. Wouldn’t shock me to see him stick on a roster.
30. Khalil Hoge, LB Buffalo - Insane production but really slow. 400 tackles in past 3 seasons though, he’ll get into a camp and he could make a team.
31. Gary Johnson, LB Texas - crazy fast, but equally undersized, he gets pinball-ed around quite a bit. Could be a super good special teamer and maybe a dime linebacker?
32. Diontae Johnson, WR Toledo - could turn into a 4th or 5th but he’s barely draftable for me.
33. Marvell Tell, DB USC - He’s thin and an explosive athlete but I’m not sure if he’s tough enough to be a safety in the league. May need a move to corner.
34. Terez Hall, LB Mizzou - 3rd day pick

2024 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT BIOS

2024 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT BIOS  Extra notes I put in italics. Some of these are from Senior Bowl or Combine notes that may have caused an update, and some are from watching extra tape later on in the Pre-Draft Process and I didn’t want to type everything up again.  Blue are guys I’m higher on by at least one round and usually 2 or 3 rds than consensus. Marvin Harrison Jr, WR Ohio State 99 I’m not trying to be contrarian here by putting Harrison Jr first ahead of Williams and Maye. The thing is my ratings are not positioned based when I do Bios and Harrison is the 2nd best prospect I’ve ever scouted (behind only Andrew Luck) so he has to get this rating. Harrison Jr is going to walk into the NFL and be a top 10 WR immediately. He has perfect size at 6’4 and 215 pounds and yet is a truly elite route runner. He creates separation and can get in and out of breaks like someone 6 inches shorter. His acceleration and ability to leave defenders looking lost is a rare trait. On to...

2021 NFL Draft Prospect Write Ups

2021 NFL DRAFT PROSPECT WRITE UPS Trevor Lawrence, QB Clemson 99 Lawrence is the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck and he’s only the second quarterback I’ve ever given the elusive 99 rating. Lawrence has only lost two games his entire career at Clemson as the starter there and has been nothing short of incredible. He has great size at 6’6 and around 225 pounds with plus movement skills. When he scrambles his long strides pick up yards in chunks. He has a big time arm that can show equal parts touch and howitzer depending on the situation. Lawrence throws a beautiful deep ball as well and has exceptional pocket awareness. Ultimately he’s someone who if you give him the pieces can be one of the best at his position in the NFL and potentially of all time. He has that type of ability. What makes Lawrence so incredible is that he can create big plays without taking unnecessary risks. He has 90 touchdowns with just 17 interceptions in his career and added on 18 touchdowns on ...

2014 overall grades

1.           Jadeveon Clowney, DE South Carolina 98 Some people may ask about his productivity or his work ethic but no one can question his talent. The former number one high school player in the country is now the number one draft prospect. He has a completely unique skill set at his size running a 4.5 40 with an 82 inch wingspan. He has a rare speed to power move that can absolutely dominate blockers. He has more much more speed than Mario Williams and more size than Dwight Freeney. A complete freak that can’t be stopped by double teams, he could be the best defensive player in the league within a year or two. 2.        Greg Robinson, OT Auburn 98 People who are 332 pounds should not run 4.8 40’s. As much as Clowney is a physical anomaly so too is Robinson. He is one of the most dominating players at the point of attack that I’ve ever watched, and I’m not just talking about college players. He is a bit raw in h...
